A Complete Electrical Home Automation Service
We can offer the complete solution – electrical installations and home automation; however, in the majority of cases, we tend to work closely with the electricians on site, providing drawings and support as required. Our experience in the electrical industry has ensured successful partnerships with many electrical companies, resulting in seamless integration.
We are delighted to have, once again, passed our NICEIC inspection authorising us to continue as a NICEIC ‘Approved Electrical Contractor’. The inspection is a rigorous assessment of all our policies and procedures and ensures that we are competent and capable in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671.
The accreditation also provides backed up reassurance to our customers that we provide a true quality service, meeting all relevant technical and safety standards.
Why Choose an NICEIC Electrician
Safety and competence
We are registered by NICEIC and assessed on a regular basis to ensure that we are competent and capable of meeting the relevant technical and safety standards, codes of practice and rules of the Schemes we are registered to.
Approved Contractor
We, as an NICEIC Approved Contractors are assessed to the highest standards covering all types of electrical work including, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of commercial, industrial and domestic electrical installations.
Domestic Installer
We are a registered NICEIC Domestic Installer which covers contractors who do installation work in domestic properties. It is important to use a Domestic Installer to comply with the requirements of Part P.
Compliance with Part P Building Regulations
Part P forms part of the Building Regulations. The principle of the Building Regulations is to ensure that consistent standards are applied to the construction of buildings including its structure, fire safety, sound insulation, drainage, ventilation and electrical safety.
The Part P requirement is that: “Reasonable provision shall be made in the design and installation of electrical installations in order to protect persons operating, maintaining or altering the installations from fire or injury.”
In short, electrical installations must be safe! Part P of the Building Regulations applies to fixed electrical installations in dwellings (including gardens and shared amenities in blocks of flats, and any building that shares its electricity supply with a dwelling).
Many of the typical jobs undertaken by electrical contractors are affected by Part P. Under Part P you should ensure that such works are notified to and inspected by building control bodies. Work needs to be inspected by the local authority Building Control department in order to ensure it complies with the Building Regulations.
A straightforward way of meeting the requirements is to use a contractor who is registered with a competent person scheme such as NICEIC. Competent persons schemes were set up with approval from the government to assess contractors to a common standard. Once contractors have registered with a scheme they can self-certify their work as being compliant with Building Regulations, saving you the time of doing it yourself through the local authority.
PAT Testing
Regular portable appliance testing (PAT) supports organisations to meet their obligations under health & safety regulations.
Complaints Procedure and Platinum Promise
NICEIC registered contractors are expected to provide a quality service to their customers, standing behind the quality of NICEIC registered contractors giving consumers peace of mind.
A client can feel confident that, the work undertaken by a NICEIC registered installer meets the required building regulations or installation standards.
