Venus Awards Regional Finalists in 2015
The Venus Awards were formed in 2009 to recognise, reward and celebrate local working women in business. Dubbed the “Working Women’s Oscars” by Channel 4 and now in its third year in Devon, the Venus Awards goes from strength to strength in discovering and recognising the brightest female business stars from the region. This year’s Awards were launched in May and have been whittled down to the Finalists through a combination of Public and Sponsor judging. Competition was fierce and sponsors and candidates have attended a variety of events over six months to reach this point. Over 90 guests enjoyed an excellent Afternoon Tea in the comfort and ambience of the Saunton Sands Hotel before the names of the Finalists were announced by the Sponsors of each category.
Alexis Bowater, Regional Partner for the Venus Awards in Devon said of the event “Today was an outstanding day at this amazing hotel which is itself an award winner and was hosting a roomful of award winners. The wonderful thing about the Venus Awards is that they are transformative and make people’s lives better irreversibly and permanently. We’ve had people coming up to us today saying that this is the most important thing that has happened in their lives.”
Karen has been specifically chosen for the ‘Customer Service’ Award and is delighted “I am absolutely over the moon to be chosen as a Finalist, I try to go the extra mile with Customer Service, especially in an arena that is so very technical and fast moving – it can be baffling for some of our clients. I always try to ensure it’s how we can stand out from our competitors and it’s so rewarding to have that recognised! There were so very many excellent business women involved in the Awards, I feel humbled to have got this far and thank Brend Hotels who sponsor the award category and hosted the event.”
The Venus Awards in Devon will culminate on Friday 27th November 2015 with a grand Awards Ceremony and Dinner at The Great Hall, University of Exeter.
